Air Safety Watch (ASW), which was initially founded in 2000 as Save the Air Travellers Association and renamed in 2002 to Air Safety Watch, has become part of the European and African Centre for Research, Training and Development (EAC). This merge came about due to the following reasons:
- Both organisations were set up by the same founders/directors who have expertise in both aviation and migration
- The strong link between aviation and migration
- Cost effectiveness
ASW works on the promotion of flight safety and security through the application of aviation psychology and human factors. It has a multicultural team based in the UK and East Africa (regional office in Sudan).
ASW provides the following services:
- Collect & analyse data through a confidential reporting system.
- Conduct and encourage research on security, safety and health of flights.
- Provide specialist consultation services for airlines on customer relationship management, safety management systems, quality systems and emergency response plans and aircraft disaster intervention.
- Provide specialist consultation services for civil aviation authorities on aviation safety and security related topics.
- Design and deliver training courses that meet the current aviation needs.
- Run Fear of Flying Intervention and Treatment (FIT) services.
